Departure Dates
We have daily departures for this trip from March to May and from mid-September to mid-December. You can type in the number of passengers to book a reservation and select a date that is convenient for you. Due to group size, we never cancel a trip once you've made a reservation. If you would rather join the group, we will add more travelers on the selected date. You can let us know once you make a reservation or earlier.
If you want to cancel the trip for any reason, you can let us know at least 30 days in advance. We will refund your deposit. If you want to cancel the trip within a 30-day period, we will keep your deposit until you find out the next schedule.

The best time for Upper Mustang Trek is during the summer season from June to September. These months offers trekkers with clear skies, stable and mild temperature and excellent mountain views. The Upper Mustang Trek covers a distance of approximately 125 to 160 kilometers (78 to 100 miles), starting from Kagbeni and making a round trip back to Jomsom via Ghaymi, Charang, Lo-Mangthang and Chuksang . Each day while ascending, trekkers walk between 10 to 15 km, depending on the terrain, and elevation gain. Trekkers ascend around 1,000 meters after starting from Kagbeni to Lo-Mangthang, and then descend gradually through the popular Buddhist Tibetan villages like Drakmar, Ghiling, Chhuksang and Jomsom. The starting point of this trek at Kagbeni sits at an elevation of 2,810 meters, whileLo-Mangthang lies at 3,840 meters. Lo-Mangthang is the highest point on this trek which offers you with panoramic views of Himalayan peaks such as Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna and other snow-capped mountain views.

Trekkers will be walking 5 to 7 hours a day at on average, often on rocky, uneven trails, pace and elevation gains. The Upper Mustang Trek isn’t a high altitude trek compared to others, so the risk of altitude sickness is relatively low. This makes it suitable for most people. If you are preparing for the Upper Mustang trek, mountaineering experience is not essential, but normal level of physical fitness is important.
Transportation Options
The Upper Mustang trek begins with either a drive or a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The option of driving or taking a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, and from Pokhara to Jomsom, depends on your preference. You will take a drive to Kagbeni, which is the starting point of your trek. The short yet amazing flight lasts about 25 to 30 minutes, offering spectacular aerial views of the Himalayan Ranges. Helicopter flights are restricted in this area and require a special permit for entry. CANCELLATION
- 20% of the trip cost will be charged for the confirmed trip getting canceled.
- 50% of the trip cost will be charged if canceled between 30 to 10 days before the trip departure date.
- No refund if canceled within 10 days of the trip date or in the case of not showing.
- Regrettably, in the case where the trek/tour cannot be completed due to the customer’s own problem, sickness, or unfavorable weather, there will be no refund.
- If the trekking/tour is extended more than the given itinerary extra charge will be applied accordingly.
- If the agreed trip cannot be organized due to bad weather or any unforeseen events, a similar trip will be organized (in mutual understanding with the travelers).
