Nepal’s most secluded regions which is nestled in the rain shadow of the Dhaulagiri and Kanjiroba ranges, is the Dolpo region.This region lies in the northwestern Nepal and is divided into Lower Dolpo and Upper Dolpo, both protected under Shey Phoksundo National Park, Nepal’ largest national park.It is known for its high-altitude desert landscape that closely resembles the Tibetan plateau. Dhido, Sisno, Bhatmas and Gundruk,Sel roti , etc are the traditional foods that can be experienced while visiting this region. This region is culturally diverse, inhabited by ethnic groups like Khas Arya(Brahmin, Chhetri), Dalits, Thakuri, Rautes(nomadic tribe), and Limi Tibetans.Tradition clothes like Daura suruwal for men and Gunyo Cholo for women are often wear by the people of this region. Deuda dance is a popular folk dance performed during festivals, accompanied by folk instruments like madal, sarangi, and bansuri.
