Tibet, known as the “Roof of the World,” is a region of Central Asia which is popular for its unique geography, rich culture, complex history, and political struggles. The total area covered by Tibet is approximately 2.5 million square kilometers. The region named Tibetan Plateau lies at an altitude of over 4,500 meter(14,800 feet) , making  it the highest region on Earth. It is known as the home of Himalayas, including Mount Everest, and also has a spiritual and cultural bridge between India and China. This region consists of mountains, grasslands, high-altitude deserts, and river system. Yangtze, Yellow, Mekong, and Brahmaputra are the major rivers of Asia that were originated from Tibet. It supports a diverse range of flora and fauna, many of which are endemic or endangered animals.

Tibet is ethnically diverse, with the Tibetan people belonging from several minority groups. Buddhism is mostly followed by the people of this region. The monasteries that have been established here are made traditionally that not just serve as place of worship but also  as centers of learning, art, and social organizations.  Tibetan art which is famous globally are characterized by thangka paintings, sand mandalas, and sacred music that reflects deep spiritual meanings. Traditional festivals like Losar(Tibetan New Year),  Saga Dawa, and the Great Prayer Festivals continue to be celebrated widely. Chuba(Long-sleeved robe made of wool) and ornaments like Turquoise, coral and silver jewelry are the traditional dress worn by the people in this area.
