The ABC Quick trek (Annapurna Base Camp Quick trek) is a high altitude trek that you can cover in a short period of time.  Trekkers trek through the Annapurna Sanctuary with a breathtaking view of mountain peaks. Trekkers can experience cultural richness, lush rhododendron forest, diverse landscape, and richness in biodiversity while doing this trek.

The trek begins from Pokhara to Birethanti through private transportation. Trek through famous places like Jhinu, Chomrong, Deurali, etc. The routes in this trek are of more walking distance compare to other trekking routes in Nepal as it needs to be finished at short period of time. Most of the trekkers feel comfortable as its maximum altitude is 4,130 meters. Annapurna South (7,219m), Tent Peak (5,695 m), and Gangapurna (7,455 m) are some of the major peaks seen from this trek.  Teahouses and small lodges have been mostly established for you to stay in this trek. Trekkers are welcomed with warm hospitality of Gurung and Magar villages. Day 01 – Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345 meters).

Day 02 – Drive from Kathmandu to Ghandruk (1940 meters)8hour drive.

Day 03 – Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong(2170 meters) 7hour walk.

Day 04 – Trek from Chhomrong to Himalaya(2800meters) 6hour walk.

Day 05 – Trek from Himalaya to Annapurna base camp(4130meters) 6hour . Overnight at hotel.

Day 06 – Trek from Annapurna base camp to Bamboo(2400meters) 5hours walk.

Day 07 – Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda or Hot spring (1780 meters)5hours walk and Drive back to Pokhara.

A large group trek to Annapurna Base Camp trek can be a budget-friendly option compared to smaller groups, as the per-person cost can be reduced. Departure Dates

We have daily departures for this trip from March to May and from mid-September to mid-December. You can type in the number of passengers to book a reservation and select a date that is convenient for you. Due to group size, we never cancel a trip once you've made a reservation. If you would rather join the group, we will add more travelers on the selected date. You can let us know once you make a reservation or earlier.

If you want to cancel the trip for any reason, you can let us know at least 30 days in advance. We will refund your deposit. If you want to cancel the trip within a 30-day period, we will keep your deposit until you find out the next schedule.

The best time to trek to Annapurna Base Camp is during the spring season from March to May and autumn season from September to November. These months offers trekkers with clear skies, stable and mild temperature and excellent mountain views. Trekkers can witness clear and breathtaking mountain views of Annapurna, Machapuchare and Dhaulagiri. Along the trails, spring season showcases with blooming rhododendron forests and lush landscapes whereas in autumn season showcases with dry, clear skies, with excellent visibility, spectacular Post-monsoon Mountain views, cool and comfortable temperature, which is ideal for trekking and photography. Monsoon season (June to August) is avoided due to heavy rainfall, landslides, and cloud-covered mountains. The ABC Quick Trek or ABC short trek covers a distance of approximately 65 to 70 kilometers (40 to 44 miles) from Pokhara to Annapurna Base Camp and back. Each day while ascending, trekkers walk between 10 to 15 km, depending on the terrain, and elevation gain. A trek to Jhinu Danda, famous for its natural hot springs is usually done while descending from Annapurna Base Camp. Jhinu Danda is located at an altitude of 1780 m and involves a walking distance of 8 to 9 km. During the descent, the walking distance is longer, as altitude decreases and trekkers feel more comfortable and move faster. The starting point of this trek at Ghandruk sits at an elevation of 1,940 meters, while Annapurna Base Camp lies at 4,130 meters. Physical Preparation Guide for Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The ABC Quick Trek doesn’t require technical climbing skill but does require a certain level of physical fitness .Many beginners have successfully completed the ABC Quick trek with our company, so mountaineering experience is not required. However, normal level of physical fitness is necessary.  People who regularly engage in fitness activities such as swimming, cycling, or cardio exercises can easily accomplish this trek. Trekkers will be walking 5 to 7 hours a day at on average, often on rocky, uneven trails, and elevation gains. The ABC Quick Trek isn’t a high altitude trek compared to others, so the risk of altitude sickness is relatively low. This makes it suitable for most people. If you are preparing for the ABC Quick trek, mountaineering experience is not essential, but normal level of physical fitness is important.

Flight and Transportation for ABC Trek

The Annapurna Base Camp trek begins with either a drive or a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The option of driving or taking a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara depends on your preference. You will take a drive to Ghandruk, which is the starting point of your trek.
