The Everest View Trek is a 7-day trek crafted for those who dream of experiencing the Himalayan views of the Everest Region without reaching the high-altitude. This trek offers an excellent opportunity to witness the beauty of the Himalayas, covering a trek distance of approximately 40-50 kilometers, depending upon the itinerary and routes.
Everest View Trek begins with a beautiful flight to Lukla, either from Kathmandu or Ramechhap. The itinerary of this trek includes the popular stops like Phakding, Namche Bazar, Khumjung which ensures trekkers get both visual and cultural exposure. Namche Bazar, the largest Sherpa town in the region, is the blend of modern conveniences and traditional mountain life. The main highlight of Everest View Trek is the short hike to Everest View Hotel, located at an altitude of 3,880m, providing the best view of the world’s highest peak. The view also includes other giants such as Ama Dablam, Lhotse and other surrounding peaks.

Everest View Trek Duration in Days, Distance in KM and Elevation in Meters
Everest View trek is about 50 to 60 km (31 to 37 miles) round trip from Lukla to Tengboche and back. The journey takes 5 walking days, with 5 to 7 hours of trekking each day. The trek begins from Lukla at 2860m with the highest point either the Everest View Hotel at 3880m or the Tengboche Monastery at 3867m, if chosen. The average itinerary escalates over the course of the trek, spending nights at key locations for acclimatizing. Most trekkers will be on the trail for about 4 to 6 hours a day, this means for most levels of fitness this trek can be accomplished.
Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Fly from Kathmandu to Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla (2,800 meters), and trek to Phakding (2,610 meters)
Elevation 2610 Meters Drive 3 hours trek
Early morning you will be driven from the hotel to Tribhuvan International airport for flight to Lukla. Please note that during the trekking season, flights to Lukla may operate from either Ramechhap or Kathmandu, depending on weather and availability. The scenic flight takes about 25 to 30 minutes, landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla, the starting point of your trek. The trek to Phakding begins shortly after meeting our staff at Lukla. The trail conditions on the way to Phakding are mostly stone-paved and dirt trails, with occasional short uphill climbs but generally a downhill walk. You will also cross several suspension bridges along the way. The walk from Lukla to Phakding covers a short distance of approximately 8 kilometers and takes around 3 to 4 hours of trekking. You will relax at Phakding.
Day 2: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,480 meters)

After a warm breakfast, you will begin your trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, following the Dudhkoshi River surrounded in a lively and scenic atmosphere. The trail takes you through beautiful pine forests and numerous suspension bridges, adding a memorable highlight before reaching Namche Bazaar. You will have your lunch at Jorsale, which is a resting point on your trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. Along the way, you’ll pass through charming villages such as Baneker, Manjoo before arriving at the entrance checkpoint of Sagarmatha National Park. From here, a steep climb leads you up to Top Danda. As you approach Top Danda, you’ll be rewarded with your first breathtaking views of Mount Everest (8,848m), along with the impressive ridges of Mount Lhotse (8,516m) and Mount Nuptse (7,816m). The walking distance from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is approxiametly 10 to 11 kilometers and takes around 5 to 6 hours of trekking.
Day 3: Acclimatization hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880m)

Namche Bazaar is the largest village in the Khumbu region, offering facilities of ATMs, Internet cafes, bakeries, restaurants and additional facilities. In your Everest View Trek Itinerary, you can utilize this acclimatization day by doing a short trek to the viewpoint (Everest View Hotel) where you can see beautiful views of snowcapped mountains. The trail condition from Namche Bazaar to the Everest View Hotel gradually ascends along well-maintained dirt and stone-paved paths, with several short uphill climbs. This day is also a great opportunity to explore the beauty of Namche Bazaar and sherpa culture.
Day 4: Optional trek to Tengboche Monastery (3,880 meters) or rest day in Namche
Elevation 3880 Meter Drive 6 hours trek
This day is kept as an optional day for trekkers. You can either trek to Tengboche Monastery or spend an acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. If you plan to trek to Tengboche Monastery, then after breakfast, the trail ascends steadily as you leave Namche Bazaar. The trek ascends through the lush forests and multiple stupas, one of which is built in memory of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. This day is mostly dusty and windy, but it offers a panoramic Himalayan view. The trail condition of Namche Bazaar to Tengboche is mostly uphill climbs, especially as you approach Tengboche. You will have your lunch at Phugi Thenga, which is a resting point on your trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche. Tengboche is one of the best viewpoints along the Everest View Trek. Tengboche Monastery is the largest and most reveres monastery in the Everest Region. You can witness breathtaking panoramic views of mountains including the Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Amadablam, Mount Nuptse and Thamserku. The walking distance from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche Monastery is approximately 9 kilometers and takes around 5 to 6 hours of trekking.
Day 5: Trek back to Phakding
Elevation 2610 Drive 7 hours trek
After breakfast, you will start your trek back to Phakding. If you visited Tengboche Monastery the day before, you will Trek from Tengboche to Phakding. If you stayed in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization, then you will return from Namche Bazaar to Phakding. The trail from Namche Bazaar to Phakding is mostly downhill. You will pass through popular villages such as Jorsalle, Monjo, and Toktok. The path includes forested areas, suspension bridges, and stone-paved sections.
Day 6: Trek back to Lukla (2,800 meters)
Elevation 2800 meters Drive 3 hours trek
Once we start to descend towards Lukla, our adventure starts approaching an end. After breakfast at Pheriche, we pass through the Hilary suspension bridge along the popular resting stops such as Thado Koshi, and Cheplung. You will descend toward Lukla covering approximately 8 kilometers in around 3 to 4 hours of trekking. After reaching Lukla, you can enjoy the serene town’s vibrant atmosphere facilitated by the pub, teahouses, café, souvenir shop, lounge and hotel. You can enjoy and fully celebrate this day as your achievement, and enjoy the moment with your trekking group.
The scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu takes about 35 to 40 minutes. Please note that during the trekking season, flights to Lukla may operate from either Ramechhap or Kathmandu, depending on weather and availability. After arriving at the airport, you will be transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu via private tourist vehicle.

Guides and porters are optional for the Everest Base Camp trek, but we recommend them for safety, local knowledge, and carrying heavy loads. Therefore, we recommend hiring an experienced guide to ensure your safety, assist with navigation, and provide local insights. A porter can also reduce your physical load, making your trek more comfortable.
Along the trek, you will stay in basic teahouses and lodges that offer simple rooms and food. The teahouses and lodges are nicer, well-developed, and better managed at the trekking routes of Everest View Trek.
Yes, Wi-Fi and mobile network coverage are available at most parts of the Everest View Trek, such as Namche Bazaar and Lukla. Most teahouses charge their customers for Wi-Fi access. However, the signal can be weak or unreliable in some remote sections and at high altitudes.
During the Everest View Trek, Temperatures vary by season and altitude. In spring and autumn, daytime temperatures usually range from 5°C and 15°C, but nights can be quite cold, dropping below freezing, especially above 3000 meters. Yes, teahouses offer charging facilities for a small fee (USD 2-5 per device). We recommend carrying a power bank or solar charger, as electricity may be limited at higher altitudes.
Credit cards acceptance is very limited during the Everest View Trek. It’s best to carry enough Nepali Rupees for the entire trek, especially for hot showers, Wi-Fi, hot water, and tips. ATMs are available in major towns such as Lukla and Namche Bazaar, but they are not always reliable.
Yes! The Everest View Trek can easily be combined with other popular adventures in Nepal. Many trekkers extent their trip by adding the Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Valley Trek, or evern sjort cultural tours around Kathmandu and Lukla .
CANCELLATION
- 20% of the trip cost will be charged for the confirmed trip getting canceled.
- 50% of the trip cost will be charged if canceled between 30 to 10 days before the trip departure date.
- No refund if canceled within 10 days of the trip date or in the case of not showing.
- Regrettably, in the case where the trek/tour cannot be completed due to the customer’s own problem, sickness, or unfavorable weather, there will be no refund.
- If the trekking/tour is extended more than the given itinerary extra charge will be applied accordingly.
- If the agreed trip cannot be organized due to bad weather or any unforeseen events, a similar trip will be organized (in mutual understanding with the travelers).
