The Everest region of Nepal is the home to world’s highest peak, Mount Everest (8848 m), which is a legendary destination for trekkers around the world. In this region, most of the treks start with a thrilling flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a small mountain airstrip often referred to as one of the most dramatic airports in the world. These treks can be done one at a time or can be combined with one or more such as Gokyo Valley Trek can be combined with EBC via the Cho La Pass Trek. Winter is possible but extremely cold and challenging, which are less preferred by the trekkers. The trails in this region are filled with small yet beautiful teahouses which offer basic but comfortable lodging and meals. Most teahouses provide local dishes like dal bhat, Tibetan bread, and Sherpa stew (Shyakpa).
