Kathmandu Heritage Tour Overview
Kathmandu Heritage Tour is a one day tour package that includes the visit to an ancient palace square, Swoyambhunath and Bouddhanath stupa and the sacred Hindu temple ‘Pashupatinath’. We start the tour with a morning drive to Swoyambhunath stupa. After visiting the stupa, we head towards the holiest pilgrimage destinations for all the Hindus of the world ‘Pashupatinath Temple’. Upon witnessing the Hindu Temple, we move towards another ancient stupa called Bouddhanath which lies about 6km east in downtown Kathmandu and is the largest stupa in the Valley. After visiting and spending an hour in Bouddha, we reach the final destination of the tour which is Kathmandu Durbar Square; Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the palaces of the Malla and Shah Kings who used to rule over the city in the ancient times. This one day itinerary is carefully planned so that the travelers can explore major heritage landmarks comfortably within a single day.
Kathmandu Heritage Tour Outline
1. Early Morning visit to Swoyambhunath Stupa(Monkey Temple)
Start the tour with a drive to Swoyambhunath Stupa. It is one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in Nepal and is famous for fluttering prayer flags, peaceful ambience. You will also visit Buddhist shrines, monasteries and prayer wheels and meet the famous resident monkeys that give the site its nickname- The Monkey Temple.
2. Visit to Pashupatinath Temple
After visiting the Swoyambhunath Temple, the tour continues to Pashupatinath Temple, the most sacred Hindu site in Nepal which is dedicated to Lors Shiva. The holy temple lies beside the holy Bagmati River and offers cultural experience. You will observe traditional Hindu rituals and ceremonies and explore smaller temples, shrines, and spiritual atmosphere that surround the area.
3.Visit to Bouddhanath Stupa
After Pashupatinath, you will head to Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the largest spherical stupas in the world. It is the spiritual heart of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Walk clockwise around the stupa with monks and pilgrims. Explore the monasteries, shop selling Tibetan handicrafts and rooftop cafes with beautiful stupa views.
4.Explore Kathmandu Durbar Square
The last stop of the tour is Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of the city. This ancient royal palace showcases the architectural brilliances of the Malla and Shah dynasties. You will visit the Kumari Ghar(home of the Living Goddess). Explore Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Taleju Temple and learn about the history of Nepal’s monarchy and Newari craftsmanship.
Your tour concludes in the evening after exploring the local market around the Durbar Square.

CANCELLATION
- 20% of the trip cost will be charged for the confirmed trip getting canceled.
- 50% of the trip cost will be charged if canceled between 30 to 10 days before the trip departure date.
- No refund if canceled within 10 days of the trip date or in the case of not showing.
- Regrettably, in the case where the trek/tour cannot be completed due to the customer’s own problem, sickness, or unfavorable weather, there will be no refund.
- If the trekking/tour is extended more than the given itinerary extra charge will be applied accordingly.
- If the agreed trip cannot be organized due to bad weather or any unforeseen events, a similar trip will be organized (in mutual understanding with the travelers).
